Voice Recordings

When you record a dream, the audio is processed entirely on your device using iOS's built-in speech recognition. Your voice recording never leaves your phone unless you explicitly choose to back it up.

Dream Transcripts

The text transcription of your dreams is stored locally on your device. If you create an account, transcripts may be synced to our secure servers for backup and cross-device access. You can disable cloud sync at any time.

Account Information

If you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Authentication credentials (handled securely via our auth provider)

Analytics Data

We use Mixpanel to understand how the app is used. This includes:

• App usage patterns (features used, session duration)
• Device type and operating system version
• Crash reports and performance data

Analytics data is anonymised and does not include the content of your dreams.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the Unsomnia service
• To sync your data across devices (if you enable this)
• To analyse app performance and fix issues
• To communicate with you about your account or the service

AI Processing

Unsomnia uses AI to extract entities (people, places, themes) and analyse sentiment in your dreams. This processing occurs on our servers using your transcript text only. We do not use your dream content to train AI models.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers with encryption in transit and at rest. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Mixpanel — Analytics
• Cloudflare — Infrastructure and security
• Neon — Database hosting

These services have their own privacy policies and are bound by data processing agreements.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Children's Privacy

Unsomnia is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
