Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Unsomnia, a dream journaling app operated by Unsomnia AI ("we", "our", or "us"). By using Unsomnia, you agree to these terms.

The Service

Unsomnia is a voice-first dream journaling app that allows you to record, transcribe, and analyse your dreams. The service includes AI-powered features for entity extraction and sentiment analysis.

Your Account

You may use Unsomnia in guest mode without an account. To sync your dreams across devices and access certain features, you'll need to create an account.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account.

Acceptable Use

Unsomnia is designed for personal dream journaling. You agree to use the service only for its intended purpose.

You may not:

  • Use Unsomnia to access AI models for purposes other than dream journaling
  • Submit content that is not genuine dream recordings or dream-related notes
  • Attempt to manipulate, exploit, or abuse the AI processing features
  • Use prompt injection, adversarial inputs, or similar techniques to misuse the service
  • Automate submissions or use the service programmatically without authorisation
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercialise access to the service or its AI features
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations

Fair Use Policy

To ensure a quality experience for all users and prevent abuse of our AI processing resources, we enforce reasonable usage limits.

Fair use guidelines: We expect typical users to record between 0-3 dreams per day. Usage patterns significantly exceeding this, or patterns inconsistent with genuine dream journaling, may be flagged for review.

We reserve the right to:

  • Monitor usage patterns for signs of abuse
  • Rate-limit or throttle excessive usage
  • Suspend or terminate accounts that violate this fair use policy
  • Modify usage limits with reasonable notice

Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, if:

  • You violate these terms or our acceptable use policy
  • Your usage patterns indicate abuse or misuse of the service
  • You engage in any activity that harms the service or other users
  • We are required to do so by law

You may delete your account at any time from within the app. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately.

Subscription and Payments

Unsomnia offers a free trial period followed by a paid subscription. Subscription fees are billed annually through the App Store.

Refunds are handled according to Apple's App Store policies. We do not provide refunds for partial subscription periods.

Your Content

You retain ownership of your dream recordings and transcripts. By using Unsomnia, you grant us a limited licence to process your content solely to provide the service (transcription, AI analysis, storage, and sync).

We do not use your dream content to train AI models or for any purpose other than providing the service to you.

Intellectual Property

Unsomnia, including its design, features, and code, is owned by Unsomnia AI and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or reverse-engineer any part of the service.

Disclaimers

Unsomnia is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI analysis will be accurate.

Unsomnia is not a medical or therapeutic tool. The service does not provide dream interpretation, psychological analysis, or health advice. Consult a qualified professional for any health-related concerns.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Unsomnia AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the service.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of Unsomnia after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Australia.
